We all know that traveling to art festivals can be very exhausting, especially when they can be twelve-hour days or more. Which brings me to ask you this question, “Are you mentally prepared for an art festival?”.
The trip to the festival along with set-up and breakdown can be exhausting. This, however, should not have any effect on your mindset to sell! Most sales are done when the artist has an uplifting personality.
When you arrive at the art festival and have your booth set-up, make sure to take a step back and see if your booth is set-up to your liking. You should ask your neighbors for their thoughts. Like we said on a previous blog post, your booth display is what attracts the customers to your artwork.
Ask yourself another question. “Are your prices competitive in today’s market?” If a customer really likes one of your pieces, are you willing to lower the price for them? You must be prepared for this type of situation!
Finally, always have a positive attitude. If a customer asks you how your show is going, make sure you let them know you have been successful (even if you haven’t met your usual sale goals). Like how we said in a previous blog post, customers like buying from someone who is successful.
