Main Feature: Mimi McCallum

Standard

Mimi McCallum is another local artist we are proud to have exhibiting in the 22nd Annual Downtown Stuart Art Festival this weekend (February 26th & 27th).

Through her art, she aspires to capture moments in time that relate to memories that touch our hearts. She aspires to create images of objects, place and figures with pleasing shapes and energetic color.

The subject she most enjoys painting is people. Her people in her paintings have an experience we all can share. Her “At the Beach” series provides glimpses of sensual and relaxing times that are at the beach. The figures in her paintings enjoy the warm sun, the wind blowing their hair, umbrellas, towels, sand in their toes and the beauty of the ocean.

Her desire is to excite the heart of the viewer by bringing to mind happy memories or expectations.

Oil is her favorite medium. She takes pleasure in working the oil as it dries, blends and creates beautiful effects.
