Timothy Geither Is Out – Treasury Dude Is In!

Standard

Attention! This morning, there was a press conference held under the Clock Tower at 5 Points Park in Downtown Sarasota, Florida. Florida State Representative, Ray Pilon, named “Treasury Dude” this weekend’s Secretary of Treasury. Ray bestowed this weekend’s honorary Secretary of Treasury with a symbolic oil can to help “grease the wheels of progress that will help get the economy back on track.”

Treasury Dude has replaced Secretary of Treasury Timothy Geither for the weekend.  This life-sized sculpture was created by Sarasota Tube Dude artist Scott Gerber.

Treasury Dude has officially declared a recession free weekend for this Saturday and Sunday, February 19 & 20 and is calling for the support of the arts and all products made in America. Treasury Dude, a new addition to the Howard Alan Events family, will be the host to 300 of the country’s leading artists who will be exhibiting their finest work at the upcoming 23rd Annual Downtown Sarasota Festival of the Arts.

Make sure to stop by the show this weekend and buy some artwork that has been hand-made in the USA! There will be something there for everyone. You will find paintings, sculptures, photography, glass, wood, jewelry, collage and ceramics at the show.

We look forward to seeing YOU there!
