This weekend (March 5th & 6th), Marcus Thomas will be joining us at the 10th Annual Downtown Venice Art Classic. Marcus has a very unique and inspiring story, which we are going to share with you. After reading his heart-felt story, you will realize that anything is possible!
This part-time Fort Myers resident defied all odds 25 years ago when a life altering skiing accident left him paralyzed. Despite the challenges he faced as a quadriplegic, Marcus took up watercolors as a form of therapy and soon became an accomplished artist. “After one year of recovery and a determined pursuit for a fulfilling life, I discovered the art of painting,” says Thomas.
Thomas was able to reconnect with nature through his art. His passion for the outdoors is evident with each stroke as he masterfully captures the details and subtle nuances. His work is collected internationally and can be seen in private and corporate collections as well as fine juried art shows around the country.
It’s unbelievable how this artist can create amazing pieces of artwork by painting with his mouth.
Recently, Marcus Thomas was also named “Artist of the Week” on Tampa Bay Examiner.com. You can view the article written about him HERE.
