The Lincoln Motor Company, Presenting Sponsor of the festival, will be awarding a limited number of quality collector edition posters of “Lincoln Road”, a painting created by participating artist April Davis.  The original painting measuring 8 feet x 5 feet, will be on display in April’s booth, across from The Lincoln Motor Company display.  April will sign each poster for patrons if they stop by her booth.  
 
In addition, festival-goers will have the opportunity to register to win two additional giveaways. The first is for a chance to win a limited edition, fine art 36-inch by 48-inch reproduction on canvas of April’s collectable painting titled “Guana Cay II”  and the other is for a chance to win a 2-year lease of a 2013 Lincoln MKZ, no purchase is necessary to participate in either giveaway.  Additional details will be available at the Lincoln Motor Company booth. St. Armands Circle Art Festival Returns For the 24th Year

Sarasota welcomes back its signature fall art festival November 10 – 11, 2012. Consistently ranked among the top 100 outdoor-juried art events in the country, St. Armands Art Festival features more than 200 of the nation’s leading artists as well as top local and regional talent. Admission is free and open to the public.

A vast array of original handmade art, priced to suit all budgets, will be on display and for sale during this two-day art festival. The artistic media represented include paintings, life size sculpture, photography, glass, wood, jewelry, collage, mixed media and ceramics with prices ranging from $25 hand-designed earrings to $30,000 metal sculptures. The artists will line St. Armands Circle with their professional display booths and transform this charming retail and dining district into a first-class outdoor art gallery showcasing their finest work around the entire circle.   The east and west bound lanes of South Boulevard of the Presidents will be closed to vehicular traffic for the safety and convenience of festival patrons.

“Our jury process is very selective, this is how we ensure a diverse and eclectic mix of styles and media that appeal to a broad variety of art enthusiasts and collectors,” says festival promoter Howard Alan.  “There is truly something for everyone.”

The artists, juried by an independent panel of expert judges and hand-selected from hundreds of applicants based on quality and diversity, will be present for the duration of the festival, available to discuss their art and inspiration. The event appeals to families and people of all ages as a free and fun weekend activity, as well as serious art buyers looking to add to their collections.

We’re thrilled to announce that the Lauderdale by the Sea Craft Festival will be returning for the 14th year this weekend to its original location in downtown along A1A and Commercial Boulevard.  This juried two-day event hosted by the Lauderdale by the Sea Chamber of Commerce is also being held on its original weekend, October 27th & 28th.  Admission is free and open to the public.

More than 100 crafters from 30 different states will showcase their unique handcrafted work with prices ranging from between $3.00 to $3,000 each.  Folk art, pottery, handmade jewelry, paintings, personalized gifts handmade clothing and scented soaps and body products will be offered within this outdoor craft festival.

Lauderdale by the Sea Craft Festival gets back its grass roots

The first major outdoor art festival of this season hits the streets of Hyde Park Village this weekend, October 27th & 28th, with a blast of pink!  Howard Alan Events has partnered with the signature breast cancer division for the American Cancer Society, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research.

Along with many of the merchants and exhibiting artists displaying special pink handcrafted gift items, there will be a special giveaway happening where you will have the chance to support the cause and make a $1 optional donation for a chance to win an original “Fight Like A Girl” specially decorated bra.  This one of a kind garment has been designed and donated by the pink petticoatIn addition, the lucky winner will receive an after hours private shopping party for ten people at the pink petticoat store, which will include champagne and desert or wine and cheese as well as store wide discounts, a value of $200!  Every penny of the proceeds will go directly to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.   The drawing will be held on Sunday at 3 pm and the winner will be notified via cell phone.

The festival will include more than 150 of the finest artists from over 30 different states as well as the top local talent, including photographer Linda Mayes (from Venice, FL), mixed media artist Susan Lane (from Key Largo, FL) and jewelry designer Lori Kay Olling (from Tampa, FL).  Each of these artists will have their specially created artwork on display and for sale in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Raising Breast Cancer Awareness at the Sarasota Craft Festival

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month
The 18th Annual Downtown Sarasota Craft Festival
October 20th & 21st

The Downtown Sarasota Craft Festival will take place October 20th & 21st, Saturday and Sunday 10am-5pm. The show is set up on Main Street and features over 100 national crafters. In addition to this wonderful annual craft fair, exhibitors are raising breast cancer awareness. Festival visitors are encouraged to join crafters in wearing something PINK at the Festival. Many of the crafters will be displaying a piece of artwork in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Below are a few of the crafters who will be taking part in this great cause at the show.
 

 

Tonya Smith
Will have a pink angel displayed in honor of her friend Tiffany who was recently diagnosed with Breast Cancer. She will be donating 20% of her proceeds to breast cancer research.

Linda & Larry Mayes  
Will be displaying pink ribbon charm bracelets, earrings and anklets. As well as a photograph with a pink rose for those who have been touched by breast cancer in some way.

Sue Babin-Swift
Will be displaying a bear dressed in pink with an inspiring message.

Leah Jamison
Leah’s entire business was created as a result of her having breast cancer. She will be displaying Breast Cancer design aprons. 

Lisa Davin
All purchases will include a pink heart.
