Looking For Something New…Don’t Look Far!

Standard

Howard Alan Events has many new artists attending our upcoming summer art shows and their work is must see!!!

Glynnis Miller

Glynnis Miller is a self-taught pencil artist who began drawing at a young age, winning her first award in 4th grade!  Glynnis’ work portrays her lifelong love of horses and the western lifestyle. The ranching community of Elko, Nevada was Glynnis’ home during her school years and the influence of Elko’s ranches, cowboys, rodeos and (of course) horses is evident in her artwork. She has owned and ridden horses for some 30 years an  they hold a special place in her life, heart, and art. Glynnis is now enjoying her first two loves, horses and drawing, and building them into a rewarding second career with multiple honors and awards. The pencil, graphite or charcoal, is Glynnis’ medium of choice. Each drawing is meticulously planned and the result of hundreds of hours with the tiny tip of a sharp pencil. Patience and focus are a requirement with this simplest, yet complex medium. See more of her work at http://www.glynnismillerart.com.

Look for Glynnis Miller’s work at the following shows:

4th Annual Downtown Frisco Art Fair ♦ 10th Annual Downtown Aspen Art Fest ♦ 25th Anniversary Beaver Creek Art Fair ♦ 6th Annual Downtown Frisco Art Fair

Kathleen Kirch

Kathleen Kirch has a passion for wildlife, sunsets, the mountains and flowers. My painting history has been sixteen years with the Decorative Artists Association. She traveled a lot growing up and loved visiting Nation Parks along the way. “I hope to inspire people to appreciate the world and to enjoy what it has to offer through my work.” Kathleen’s oil paintings are beautiful and capture vivid moments in nature with her attention to detail. See more of her work at http://www.kathleenkirch.com.

Look for Kathleen Kirch’s work at the following shows:

5th Downtown Art Annual in Kansas City ♦ 5th Annual Boulder Festival of the Arts on 29th St ♦ 4th Annual Downtown Frisco Art Fair ♦ 10th Anniversary Downtown Aspen Art Fair ♦ 6th Annual Downtown Frisco Art Fair

Main Street To The Rockies Art Festival Publicity

Standard

The Summit Daily News is running a feature story about the 5th Annual Main Street to the Rockies Art Festival and profiling two of the participating artists in their Friday Scenes section.

The artists they are featuring include Tim Zandee and Dwayne Cranford.

(1) Tim Zandee

We live in a fast paced society where we want everything in an instant. Instant food, instant conversations on portable phones, and instant information from fast computers – we really don’t want to wait for anything.

This doesn’t work for Tim’s fine art photography.  Patience is more important than any equipment in his camera bag. Countless hours of hiking and waiting for the perfect light have been put into his work.  So sit down, relax, and enjoy these inspirational images that have been captured on film.

Here are a few examples of his work:

Tim is probably one of the most talented photographers in the industry. His work is absolutely flawless! You can see more of his work HERE.

(2) Dwayne Cranford

Dwayne participates in many of our shows on our Colorado Summer Tour and even exhibited in our Park City, UT festival.  This year he exhibited in the following: 9th Annual Downtown Aspen Art Festival, 24th Annual Beaver Creek Art Festival & the 2nd Annual Redstone Art Fair.

Dwayne hand-makes the most beautiful stone and metal sculptures. He has always been a favorite at our shows.

Ronnie Holze: Colorado Artist Spotlight

Standard

This weekend (August 13th & 14th), Howard Alan Events is proud to have Ronnie Holze as an exhibitor in the 5th Annual Main Street to the Rockies Art Festival in Frisco, Colorado.

Ronnie Holze of Crested Butte, Colorado is a dedicated artist best known for his depiction of the many moods and splendor of the majestic Rocky Mountains and the wildlife, especially trout, that live there.  His understanding of nature and wildlife in their natural environment is reflected in his choice of color, attention to detail and sense of composition found in each of his paintings.

Born and raised in Central Texas, Ronnie spent his first years as an artist painting the bluebonnets, cactus and windmills that are typical of that area.  In 1994, Ronnie and his wife Kay moved to Crested Butte where they live in a log home ten miles from town, overlooking the spectacular mountains that he loves to paint.  “What better inspiration to see first hand the many moods and spirit of these magnificent mountains, then to live among them each day.”

Ronnie is a self-taught oil painter specializing in landscape, wildlife and trout, and has published many limited edition prints.  His paintings have been chosen to be the cover picture on twenty-four different fly fishing guide books and maps.  He is an avid fly fisherman and scuba diver, which enables him to  capture underwater pictures of trout in their natural habitat.

His work is absolutely beautiful! We have a few examples of his work below:

Here are a few of the artists you will see this weekend:

Claudia Ariss: Glass

The first artist we would like to introduce to you is Claudia Ariss. Claudia’s work is best described as contemporary, one-of-a-kind window and wall glass sculpture. Myriad elements make up her pieces: Kokomo head glass, glass rondels, “Bronzed” or oiled hardwood branches, a variety of beads, agates, shells, wire-wrapping, and freshwater pearls. The possibilities are endless! You can see more of Claudia’s beautiful work HERE.

Steve Malavolta: Wood

Next, we have Steve Malavolta. Steve creates the most beautiful and intricate puzzles out of wood. Pictured above, you will see a 14 Layer Puzzle with approximately 300 hand-cut & finished pieces from Wenge & Maple.

Holly Sokol: Jewelry

The final artist we are going to share with you is Holly Sokol. Holly is fascinated by universal designs, visual rhythms of shapes, colors and combinations of groupings and application of those concepts to design. It has been proven that certain designs and combinations of groups, colors effect the human perception and spirit in pleasing (and negative) ways. Each piece, no matter how large or small has thoughtfully been designed with a rhythm and design in mind to please the human spirit. You can view more of Holly’s bright and vibrant pieces HERE.

You will be able to meet these artists above along with 100 of the top artists from across the United States. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at 561-746-6615 or info@artfestival.com.
