Hyde Park Village Art Fair Takes Over Halloween Weekend

This past weekend, Howard Alan Events produced a terrific art festival in Tampa, Florida at Hyde Park Village. It was a HUGE success! Despite the threat of terrible weather, the weekend turned out wonderful. Additionally, we saw many happy patrons leaving with purchases.

No Tricks, Just Treats At The Hyde Park Village Art Fair

The Hyde Park Village Art Fair is a can’t miss event, but this weekend we’ve got yet another reason to visit more than 115 artists…”gleeks” and non-“gleeks” alike will be treated to a flash mob performance this Halloween weekend. Be sure to ‘tune’ your attention to the fountain area on Saturday around 1:30pm.

Another treat for artists and patrons alike is that the 22nd Annual Hyde Park Village Art Fair was named a top pick for The St. Petersburg Times Weekender publication.

22nd Annual Hyde Park Village Art Fair (October 29th & 30th, 2011)

This weekend (October 29th & 30th, 2011), Howard Alan Events proudly presents the 22nd Annual Hyde Park Village Art Fair in Tampa, Florida.

The show will feature the finest artists in the country including top local talent.  The artistic media represented at this popular two-day outdoor art gallery include paintings, sculptures, photography, glass, wood, jewelry, collage, and ceramics with prices ranging from $25 hand-designed earrings to $30,000 metal sculptures.

Admission is free and open to the public. Times are Saturday & Sunday 10am-5pm. The address for the event is 1622 Snow Avenue, Tampa, Fl. 33606.

Here are the artists you will be able to meet this weekend:

Kimberly Marshall: Mixed Media

First, we would like to introduce to you Kimberly Marshall. Kimberly combines up to 30 layers of acrylics and oils which emphasizes different impasto textures and thus produces very dimensional, sculptural effect on canvas. Her work is absolutely beautiful! You can learn more about Kimberly HERE.

Sylvie Camps: Jewelry

Next, I would like to introduce to you Sylvie Camps. Sylvie’s creations are inspired by Florida’s nature and colors. Her other inspirations include: Florida’s seas, ponds, wild grasses, swamps, vast sky & colorful sunsets. Sylvie carefully selects each bead for her projects and places them to enhance their unique beauty. You can learn more about this talented artist HERE.

Lauren Lasa: Mixed Media

The final artist we are going to introduce to you is Lauren Lasa. Lauren started making her Nature Mosaics with dried flowers, beans and spices of all types of textures and colors. She enjoys finding these natural treasures and combining them with antique trays to create truly unique pieces of art. You can learn more about Lauren and her unique work HERE.

You will be able to meet the artists mentioned above along with 100 other incredible artists from across the United States. What a perfect way to spend your Halloween weekend!

Local Tampa Artists at Hyde Park Village Art Fair

We are thrilled to have local Tampa artists participating in the 22nd Annual Hyde Park Village Art Fair. Make sure you support the local artists and visit their booths to see their beautiful art work!

David Edmund: Paintings

First, we would like to introduce to you David Edmund. David’s style incorporates warm colors and alternating palette knife with brush work, which is why his work has a textural look. He works with water based paints only (acrylics, watercolors, gouache) and adds collage and mixed media components to many of his pieces. You can view more his work HERE. Additionally, he will be in space #44A.

Lorrie Mason: Jewelry

Next, we have Lorrie Mason. Lorrie has been exhibiting in Fine Art Shows for 4 years. Learning about metalsmithing and it’s properties continues to be an inspiration for her. She tries to let go and be a channel for a product that feels beautiful and fulfilling. You can view more of her gorgeous jewelry HERE. For this weekend’s show, she is space #72.

Mark Pericot: Photography

The final local Tampa artist we are going to share with you today is Mark Pericot. Eight years ago Mark found his passion; it inspired him to travel the world for a specific photographic subject. His inspiration is colonial and medieval doors captured between Central America, South America, the Caribbean, Mexico, Europe, The Middle East and Asia. His photography is magnificent! 22nd Annual Hyde Park Village Art Fair: April 9th & 10th, 2011

This weekend (April 9th & 10th), Howard Alan Events proudly presents the 22nd Annual Hyde Park Village Art Fair in Tampa, Florida.

Bold and vibrant paintings, contemporary and whimsical art, life-size sculptures, photography and jewelry are among the original works of art that will transform Hyde Park into an outdoor gallery style art show. The art festival affords the public a wonderful opportunity to meet and speak with the artists about their creations and inspiration. This free two-day event features the finest artists in the country including exceptional local artists. Admission is free and open to the public. Times are Saturday & Sunday 10am-5pm. Ryan Gothrup: Glass

The first artist we would like to introduce to you is Ryan Gothrup. Ryan realized his love for glass at the Indianapolis Art Center where he studied under Ed Francis, a nationally recognized glass artist. Today, Ryan’s work has been exhibited in galleries throughout the Midwest. He also sells his work while traveling to various art & craft fairs. You can view more of his glass work HERE.

Kuei Dorman: Watercolor

Next, we would like to introduce to you Kuei Dorman. Kuei has retained all the traditional values when she creates her paintings. She grinds the ink sticks and uses the finest oriental mineral and vegetable dyes. Using natural materials and original techniques, Kuei hand processes the fine silk and rice paper on which she paints. You can view more of her stunning and original work HERE.

Janet Searfoss: Batik

The final artist we are going to introduce to you today is Janet Searfoss. Janet is a painter of Batik, the antique appearing paintings done with hot wax and dyes that often resemble stained glass in fabric form. She combines the ancient craft of Batik with the art of painting. Her work is magnificent! You can view more of it HERE.

This past Halloween weekend, we had our 21st Annual Hyde Park Village Art Festival in Tampa, Florida. First, we greatly appreciate all those who wore PINK in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
