Artist Spotlight: Paul McClain

Standard

Paul McClain, who is from Mansfield, Ohio, is one of our exhibitors in the 2nd Annual Art In The Village Part II. The art festival will be held this weekend (September 24th & 25th, 2011) in Cleveland, Ohio at Legacy Village.

Paul began to draw and paint at the age of two and has never stopped! His original inspiration came from his first museum visit (age two), and later his love of nature and solitude. He likes to use natural colors with very little enhancement, because nature provides an overwhelming array of colors. Over the years, his art has evolved to include architecture, people, and man-made objects in natural surroundings. These elements provide great opportunity for the use of perspective, adding strength, and drama to his paintings.

He likes to paint landscapes that reinforce lines of visual direction, by making clouds that move rhythmically, or using the shapes of distant trees and hills to mimic perspective. He looks for settings, or motifs that have these strengths naturally.

Here are a few examples of Paul’s beautiful work:

Here are a few of the artists who will meet at this weekend’s show:

Ed King: Paintings

First, we have Ed King. Ed lives in Miami Beach and spends his days sketching, painting and working on projects for clients. His paintings are marvelous! They would be perfect to brighten up any room in your house! You can learn more about this fascinating artist HERE.

Zenia Lis: Jewelry

The final artist we are going to introduce to you today is Zenia Lis. Zenia may have left Cuba as a child but, the beauty of the beaches from her native country has continued to inspire many of her designs. Zenia loves to use natural water colors like turquoise, aquamarine and natural chalcedony and coral as they remind her of the pristine beauty in those beaches. Her hard work ethic is also evident in her designs which give a new meaning to detail and beauty. Her jewelry is exquisite! Any of her pieces would complement any outfit. You can see more of her work HERE.

You will be able to meet these artists mentioned above along with other top artists from across the country.

Art In The Village Part II – The Atlanta Alternative

Standard

Art In The Village is the “Atlanta Alternative“.

If you had planned on being in Atlanta, which you know this show has been cancelled, we offer you to apply to our Art In The Village Part II!

Located in the eastern, wealthy suburbs of Cleveland, Legacy Village resembles a downtown shopping district.

Lyndhurst is in the midst of where residents appreciate great art, are highly educated, affluent and are prepared to buy.

This would be a fantastic show to add on to after the 3rd Annual Inner Harbor Art Festival on September 17th & 18th. The drive from Inner Harbor to Art In The Village is roughly 6 hours. Both of these shows are a great addition before our art festivals begin in Florida!

Applications can be found HERE.
