Here are a few of the fine crafters you can expect to meet this weekend:

Darlene Janora: Wood

The first artist we would like to introduce to you is Darlene Janora. Most of Darlene’s work is called Intarsia, which means: the art of decorating with wood mosaics developed during the Renaissance. She starts with a solid piece of wood, draws the picture directly onto the wood and then cuts out each piece individually. Each piece is hand sanded and shaped, painted or stained and than glued back together. The 3D effect is created by using shims in certain areas. Finally, polyurethane is applied. You can view more of Darlene’s work HERE.

Suzanne Boss: Jewelry

Next, we have Suzanne Boss. Suzanne hand-makes her beautiful jewelry from start to finish. Additionally, she is also very talented at making sun catchers! She is more than willing to do custom work – so if you have an idea in mind… contact Suzanne! You can view more of her work HERE.

Attention Punta Gorda Crafters!

This year marks the 10th Anniversary of 9/11, which falls during the 14th Annual Punta Gorda Sullivan Street Craft Festival. We plan to pay tribute during the festival and would like to know if you have work inspired by or that relates to the tragedy or even has a patriotic theme.

If you have artwork that fits these criteria please contact Elisabeth Hayes at elisabeth@artfestival.com as soon as possible. The publicity we generate may lead to a feature story profiling the festival as well as your work.

331 Sullivan St., Punta Gorda, FL. 33950

I would like to share with you some of the artists who will be accompanying us. First, we have…

Cindy Logan

Cindy Logan! In the picture above, I have an example of her artwork. These unique creature pots are hand-crafted utilizing ceramic. On her website, she posted pictures of some of her clients using her artwork as flower pots. If you would like to see more of Cindy Logan’s artwork, click HERE. Next, we have Hayley Zimmass!

Hayley Zimmass

Hayley also creates her artwork using ceramics. There’s a whimsical touch tied in with all her various art pieces. They range from butter dishes to mirrors to hanging wall-art. Additionally, she has a section on her website dedicated to cheese domes. If you would like to see her artwork, click HERE.

Our third artist we would like to share with you is…

Anisa Stewart

Anisa Stewart! Her contemporary and wildlife jewelry is absolutely stunning. Anisa creates her jewelry using the “wax casting method”. This means that she starts off by by carving an original wax model. Next, she takes this model and burns out the wax and pours the molten metal into the void. This allows her to make her jewelry more detailed. If you would like to see Anisa’s website, click HERE.

We cannot wait to see everyone in Punta Gorda (FL) this weekend!
