Weekend Summary: 21st Annual Tarpon Springs Art Festival

This past weekend (October 8th & 9th, 2011), American Craft Endeavors produced the 21st Annual Tarpon Springs Art Festival in Tarpon Springs, Florida. Unfortunately, we did have rainy weather on one of the days (which of course is out of our control), but the other half of the weekend was beautiful!

Local Tarpon Springs Area Artists: Angela Roberts & Chelsea Pavloff

We always like to show support to the local artists of our shows, and YOU should too! Angela Roberts & Chelsea Pavloff are jewelry artists from Lutz, which is a short distance away from Tarpon Springs.

They will be joining us at the 21st Annual Tarpon Springs Craft Festival this weekend (October 8th & 9th, 2011).

Chelsea Pavloff has been designing as long as she can remember. She couples her love for design and animals to create her fun and whimsical designs. Angela Roberts has studied jewelry design and glass bead lampworking with reknown artists throughout the U.S. As you can see, her influence from these well-known artists’ shows in her work!

21st Annual Tarpon Springs Craft Festival (October 8th & 9th, 2011)

This weekend (October 8th & 9th, 2011), American Craft Endeavors presents the 21st Annual Tarpon Springs Craft Festival in Tarpon Springs, Florida.

Traditionally held on Thanksgiving weekend, the 21st Annual Tarpon Springs Craft Festival returns in early October with the country’s leading crafters as well as the most talented locals. A full spectrum of craft art mediums will be on display and for sale with prices ranging from as little as $3 to $3,000. Here you will see: gourmet sauces, pottery, jewelry, a green market, home decor & much more!

Did we mention that this craft festival will be held in an incredible new location on Tarpon Avenue, which is the main street in downtown Tarpon Springs? Make sure you stop by!

Admission is free and open to the public. Times are Saturday & Sunday 10am-5pm. The navigational address is: 161 E Tarpon Ave., Tarpon Springs, FL 34689.

Here are a few of the artists & fine crafters you will be able to meet this weekend:

Jennifer Simmons: Coffee (Green Market)

First, we would like to introduce to you Jennifer Simmons. Jennifer’s product, tasty coffee, will be a part of our green market in the show. Jennifer and her husband, Mike, have researched how to make sure they had all the elements needed so that Java Planet could become certified Organic, and what regions produced the best tasting coffee.  They even researched how long coffee stays fresh to ensure the best possible coffee. Rasa Saldaitis: Oils & Acrylics

Next, we have Rasa Saldaitis. Rasa’s oil and acrylic paintings represent her love for color and the world around her. She feels that every artist dips his brush in his soul and paints his own nature into his paintings. Her work is breath-taking! You can view more of her work HERE.

Regina Boger: Jewelry

The final fine crafter we are going to share with you today is Regina Boger. First, Regina visualizes the finished piece, and then begins to make it come to life. She uses an assortment of semi-precious stones, freshwater pearls, and Swarovski Crystals. Her jewelry has a whimsical flair and is very unique! You can see more of her hand-made jewelry HERE.

New Date & Location: 21st Annual Tarpon Springs Craft Festival

Attention Fine Crafters!

The 21st Annual Tarpon Springs Craft Festival, which will be held next weekend (October 8th & 9th), has a fantastic new location!

The show will be held on Tarpon Avenue, which is the main street that runs through the busy downtown area in Tarpon Springs.

You can find plenty in this area, including: the spongedocks, greek restaurants, bakeries, attractions, tours, sightseeing cruises, and lots of shopping. This is the perfect backdrop for an American Craft Endeavors craft festival!

Lee DayVault & Mimi Alexander: Wood Signs

Lee DayVault & Mimi Alexander began their business at a Labor Day festival. They created bags and wooden signs. The wooden signs completely sold-out during this festival while they only sold five bags. This sparked an idea for their business. They now have over 2,000 wooden sign designs! Bruce Egolf: Pens

Bruce Egolf‘s theme is “turning trash into treasure”, which is exactly what he does when he creates his pens. For example, the pens in the picture above are made from an old bowling ball. To see more of Bruce’s work, click HERE.

Michael & Kira Dworkin: Jewelry

Michael & Kira Dworkin have been handcrafting exquisite unique designs for over fifteen years.
