American Craft Endeavors Craft Festivals Now Available on Zapplication!

Attention Crafters!!

Our 2012 Craft Festival Applications are now live on Zapplication (from February 2012-December 2012)! Now, you have a choice of how you want to apply – you can mail in the application OR apply on Zapp! For those of you who are new to Zapp, we have helpful instructions below:

First, you need to set up an account with Zapplication by visiting www.Zapplication.org.

When you apply to a show, you will upload 3 photos of your work and 1 photo of your booth display.

There will be a jurying fee when you apply on Zapplication, but there will not be a jurying fee if you mail in the application.

After your application has been juried and you have been “invited” to the show, an email will be sent to you. In this email, we explain to you: if you accept our invitation to exhibit – either a deposit in the amount of $50.00 will need to be sent in immediately or the entire show fee. The payment towards the show is what reserves your space!

*As a reminder, we do not accept regular paper applications through the fax and/or e-mail. You will need to mail it in to us via “snail mail”.

Slides, Photos Or Digital?

Slides, photos, or digital (Zapplication)… which do you prefer? There are many events that only have one way of applying, which is through Zapplication.org. Lucky for you, Howard Alan Events allows you to apply using photos/slides (via snail mail) or Zapplication.

Many artists are not ready to make the switch into the digital world, which is why we have an option for everyone.

For those of you who haven’t started using Zapplication, yet, here are some great features:

(1) It’s relatively easy to set-up an account.

(2) Once an image is uploaded, it’s archived.

(3) You can check-out criteria for other shows.

(4) It allows you to find shows that you most likely never knew about before.

How To Accept Your Howard Alan Events Invite From Zapplication

We know that Zapplication can be rather difficult sometimes. We wanted to go ahead and highlight how to successfully “accept” your invitation when you receive one from Zapplication.

We realize that other promoters operate Zapplication differently than we do. This is how Howard Alan Events operates Zapp:

(1) The only payment on Zapplication you make is the application fee.

(2) Once your artwork is juried, your status will be: Invited, Not Invited, Wait List, or Incomplete.

(3) If your status is “Invited” then you will have an email in you inbox that says “(Show Name) Zapplication Invitation Letter”.

(4) Your invitation letter will read something like this:

We thank you for your application and we are pleased to INVITE you to exhibit in the above art festival. Please respond to this email or give us a call at the office as soon as possible and let us know if you accept our invitation.

If you accept our invitation to exhibit either a deposit in the amount of $50.00 will need to be sent in immediately or the entire show fee in the amount of $$$. We must receive either the deposit or show fee immediately TO SECURE YOUR SPACE IN THE SHOW! Payment can be made by either calling our office with credit card information or by mailing in a check. You cannot pay through Zapp. If you choose to send in a deposit, the balance will be due no later than 30 days prior to the show or a 50.00 late fee will be imposed. Please advise us if you accept or decline.

Please respond to us as soon as possible to confirm your space in the show. YOU WILL NOT BE PLACED INTO THE SHOW UNTIL YOUR DEPOSIT OR FULL PAYMENT IS RECEIVED HERE IN THE OFFICE. This is the only notification you will receive so please respond immediately.

(5) I highlighted the key phrases and words in this letter. Please remember that you are not in the show until you make that initial payment, whether it is a deposit or the full amount. You can pay by calling the office and using a credit card OR mailing in a check. You cannot do your payment through Zapp!

2011 Applications Are Now Available On Zapplication!

Attention artists! On Monday, we informed you that the applications for the 2011 Winter, Spring, Summer & Fall were available on the website.

Now, the applications are available on Zapplication!

Here are a few reminders:

(1) The Western Tour’s application deadline is March 14, 2011.

Downtown Frisco: 2010

(2) Alexandria has an application deadline of May 2, 2011.

Remember to apply early because these shows do fill-up very quickly! Happy applying!!
